OPENING OF SOUTH CAUCASUS GRID & CLOUD COMPUTING WORKSHOP


Georgian Technical University hosted Third ATLAS South Caucasus Grid & Cloud Computing Workshop - SCGCCW'2014. Workshop organized by CERN and ATLAS collaboration. It aims at fostering contacts between ATLAS collaborators and computing people in South Caucasus countries - Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, and experts in ATLAS software and Grid and Cloud computing technologies. Workshop will helps local groups to establish Grid Tier-3 clusters in their home institutions. Open ceremony leaded by rector of GTU Prof. Archil PRANGISHVILI. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia addressed words of welcome to all participants and emphasize importance of workshop, consider it as an productive step beyond on the way of Georgia to become associate member of CERN. Ceremony finished by welcome talks of Prof. Dario BARBERIS and Prof. Alexander SHARMAZANASHVILI (watch video here)
